Fundraising ideas for your workplace

Looking for ways to raise vital funds with your colleagues? Check out our ideas for fundraising at work

There are lots of ways you can fundraise at work. How about a team distance challenge or a bake sale? You could even try sweepstakes or dress down days.

Take a look at our favourite fundraising ideas and find one that works for you. There are lots of great ones to choose from.

30 Day Star Jump Challenge

It’s simple. All you need to do is complete 100 star jumps every day for 30 days.

Fun-athon

Marathons aren’t just for running. Try an overnight dance-a-thon, a week long reading challenge or a lunch time knitting competition. Set yourself the challenge and ask everyone to sponsor you for doing what you do best.

Go the distance

A little friendly competition never hurt anyone.

Pick a distance, put everyone into teams and see who can collectively complete the distance the fastest. You can even pick how you’re going to complete it (running, rowing, cycling etc). It’s a great one for team building.

Star in Every Colleague

Invite your colleagues to show off their best talents – whether it’s singing, dancing or playing an instrument. Everyone pays to enter and is in with a chance of winning a grand prize.

Who’s going to get the golden buzzer?

Sweepstakes

A sweepstake is a quick and easy way to get the whole office involved in raising funds for Action for Children. The competition choice is up to you. Wimbledon or the World Cup? If you’re not a sporty office – try Eurovision.

Everyone pays to enter. Donate half of the money and the winner receives the other half.

The Great Office Bake Off

Mixing bowls at the ready. Put everyone’s kitchen skills to the test and ask colleagues to bring their signature bake up to the judging table. Donate to enter or ask everyone to pay for a slice.

Who’s going to win Star Baker of the office? No soggy bottoms please!

It’s Sports Day!

Who’s going to reach the finish line first in a sack, show off their three-legged skills or win the egg and spoon race?

Pay to enter – it’s a win-win deal. You’ll be supporting vulnerable children and young people and being active can help your own mental health.

Let’s get active

Why not take turns to lead an exercise session on your lunchbreak and donate to take part. A yoga class? A run around the city? A boot camp in the lobby? Getting active is the perfect way to raise funds for Action for Children and encourage team spirit amongst colleagues.

Office Olympics

Now, we’re not expecting anyone to take on the almighty high jump, don’t worry. But who can throw the tea bag into the mug? How about a game of bin basketball or a desk chair race?

Ready, Set, Go and donate.

Knockout darts

One hundred and eighty! Each player throws three darts per turn, trying to outscore the player who threw before them. If a player fails to outscore the player who threw before them three times, they’re eliminated from the game of knockout darts.

Brie-liant cheese tasting

From fromage to fauxmage, let’s taste them all! Ask everyone to bring a different cheese to work and hold your very own cheese tasting event. Everyone who attends enjoys an afternoon of cheese and donates to support vulnerable children and young people. What could be better?

Dress down days

A super simple way for everyone to get involved – ask everyone to dress down for the day and wear whatever they like to work.

Or flip it on its head, pick a theme and dress up instead.

Grub social club

Lunchtime is the perfect chance to bring your team together and fundraise.

Why not throw a lunchtime dinner party and ask everyone to donate for their lunch? And if too many cooks aren’t going to spoil the broth, you could ask everyone to bring in their favourite dish to share.

“Putting” off work

Show off your best golfing skills on the office putting green. Design your own mini-golf course around the office and take it turns to see who can win the 7-hole tournament.

Donate to enter, but watch out – each one is harder than the last. Who can get a hole in one?
