Vice Presidents
Learn about our Vice Presidents and how they help us transform the lives of children and young people in the UK
‘Vice President’ is one of Action for Children’s highest honorary titles. It’s for supporters who have gone above and beyond for children, young people and families across the UK.
Vice Presidents have:
- Typically driven transformational fundraising or personally contributed over £1 million in donations.
- Shown exceptional commitment through their length of service, contributions and impact.
- Helped transform the lives of children and their families by bringing supporters to our cause, boosting our profile, or spearheading our flagship events.
Ken is a former journalist and PR consultant. He now runs The Amber Group, a training company specialising in communications coaching, including media training, presentation coaching, bid support and storytelling.
Ken is the Founder and co-chair of Byte Night, our largest annual fundraising event, which we’ve now developed into Boycott Your Bed. He has helped raise over £14 million to support our work.
Ken has previously been an Ambassador for Action for Children and has been awarded an MBE for his services to young people through his support of Action for Children.
Lynda has been involved with Action for Children since 1988, after meeting Catherine, an eight-year-old left paralysed for life after suffering abuse.
Lynda founded the first of the charity’s appeal groups, bringing together influential people to raise vital funds for the charity’s support services. She has helped unlock transformational gifts for Action for Children. She is Founder and Chair of our annual Spring Lunch, which raises over £100,000 each year.
