2. Kiltwalk:

This super Scottish fundraising event sees thousands of people walking miles and miles, wearing tartan and raising money for fantastic causes. Last year 200 Kiltwalkers took part in aid of Action for Children. In 2024, we want you to be part of our biggest team yet.

Charity running events

Charity running events are the most popular way to fundraise. You'll feel a huge sense of pride crossing the finish line having raised vital funds for vulnerable children and families across the UK.

4. London Marathon

Were you lucky enough to secure a place in the London Marathon ballot? Use your own place to support Action for Children, and you’ll get invited to an exclusive post-race party. End the day with a shower, massage, food and professional photos with your medal.

In the volunteer work I do for Action for Children, I’ve seen the difference they make to vulnerable young people. I can’t think of a better cause to put myself through all this training for than that.

5. Brighton Marathon

The Brighton Marathon is one of the UK’s favourite 26.2-milers. With a stunning backdrop of the sea in one of the country’s most vibrant cities, the race gets bigger and better every year. Renowned for its buzzing atmosphere and roaring crowd, the course winds through the city streets, finishing up on the spectacular Brighton seafront. What are you waiting for?

6. Great North Run

Join 65,000 runners taking on the biggest and best half marathon in the world! You’ll get the chance to run over the iconic Tyne Bridge, and enjoy beautiful views of the Northeast coastline as you pass the finish line.

Run with team Action for Children and you’ll be treated to a post-race massage, refreshments, and professional photographs to show off your medal.

7. Extreme charity sports events

Calling all adrenalin junkies! If you’re looking for something a bit more thrilling than your average fundraising event – take on an extreme charity sports event.

Whether it’s a skydive, a wingwalk or abseil, it’s the ultimate way to make a difference.

It was a totally unreal experience! I was the last one to jump so one by one I watched them all disappear off the edge! I’m so proud of them all.

All Action for Children sports fundraisers get:

  • A free Action for Children running vest or t-shirt to wear on the day of your event.
  • Support from your local fundraising expert who can help you smash your fundraising target.
  • On-the-day support at cheer points at many of the events listed above.
