We are a mental health and wellbeing service for young people in Moray aged 5-25.

SONAS Family Wellbeing Service Important Update

The SONAS Wellbeing Service comes to the end of the current period on 31 March 2025. The following update has been provided by Martin Robertson, Action for Children’s Moray Service Manager.

Due to the end date of 31 March, we will be closing to new referrals from Friday 20 December 2024. This means we will not accept any referrals or requests for support after this date. Where staffing allows, we will continue to operate up to and including 31 March. This applies to those we are currently supporting, and we aim to get through those who are already on our waiting list – and ensure that where support will not be available, this is clearly communicated to the individual/family concerned.

For those who have already been referred to our service, support will also continue through our helpline, available 7 days per week up to 11pm. This has been communicated to everyone for whom we have a referral.

In the meantime, please reach out to us at [email protected] in the first instance for any queries pertaining to those you have already referred.

Whilst it’s always difficult to see a service come to an end, I am incredibly proud of what the SONAS team have achieved over its tenure and would welcome the opportunity to remain a part of the next stage – however that may look.

How can we help?

SONAS is a support service for those aged 5 to 25 (26 if care experienced). We use a range of tools such as our very own Blues and Bouncing Back programmes.

All of our work is planned around you and your needs. This isn't a one size fits all approach - we will work with you to discover how best to support you as an individual. Though we are a confidential service, if we feel you or someone else is at risk of harm, we may need to pass this on.

Access to our service is a simple referral form that you can get by calling 01343549557 or by email.

Who do we work with?

Our service is for any young person in Moray. We work either with young people on an individual basis, or can support a family more widely. Wherever possible, we like to include family members to support the young person, although we know this isn't always the best option.

Our staff

We have a team of Wellbeing Practitioners who will call you to say hello and discuss your referral. They will inform you of our waitlist if this applies and offer you a telephone consultation to ensure you are supported as soon as possible.

Our Wellbeing Practitioners are all trained in various approaches and have lots of experience in working with people from all walks of life - they're a friendly bunch!

Get in touch

Please do get in touch if you have any queries at all, or to make a referral - we will happily talk through any aspect of our service.
