We are here to support children and young people, from 5 to 18, with their emotional health and wellbeing.
Our services include:
- Direct Support: One-to-one counselling, group sessions, and digital self-help programs.
- Prevention and Early Intervention: Workshops in schools and community settings, plus specialist training for professionals.
- Digital Support: Information and advice.
We offer both virtual and face-to-face sessions at local venues like schools and youth spaces. We do not offer home visits.
How to refer
Use Branch, an online hub for mental wellbeing tools and support in Wirral. If you’re 13 or older, you can complete the questionnaire yourself. If you're under 13, you should ask a trusted adult to help.
Answer a few questions and Branch will show you the most suitable support available.
To access direct support, Action for Children need parental consent in order to ensure your safety when accessing services away from home or school environments.
Our team is highly trained in supporting mental health and emotional wellbeing through direct, preventative, and digital solutions. We follow robust clinical management and evidence-based interventions.
Since working with Action for Children we have seen a real shift on how our students feel about talking about their mental health; they are more open and confident.
The service is delivered by Action for Children. It is commissioned by NHS Cheshire and Merseyside Integrated Care Board to support children and young people on Wirral with their emotional health and wellbeing.
