Action for Children responds to the Education Policy Institute annual report on access to child and mental health services in England (CAMHS)
Action for Children’s director of policy and campaigns, Imran Hussain, said:
“The government is failing to address the growing crisis in children’s mental health, which millions of vulnerable young people battle with daily.
“Our frontline services see the pain and anguish that children and teenagers experience as they struggle to understand how they fit into the world - from self-harm and eating disorders to depression and anxiety.
“We know from our own school programmes how vital it is to step in early with support to stop problems in their tracks and dial down the agony these young people face. The government must grasp the reality of this crisis and commit to adequate funding and specialist services to stop a generation of children from suffering in the future.”
