Statement on George Floyd Anniversary

Tuesday 25 May 2021

Today marks one year on from the murder of George Floyd in the US

This led to the resurgence of the Black Lives Matter (BLM) Movement, where people from all backgrounds stood in solidarity against this shocking and brutal injustice witnessed by the world. This rightly brought into focus the structural racism and discrimination that continues to exist across the globe, in the UK and within the charity sector.

Action for Children would like to reaffirm its commitment to being an actively anti-racist organisation by dismantling prejudice, discrimination and racism in all its forms to make our charity a truly equitable, diverse and inclusive organisation.

As an organisation, we're refining our anti-racism action plan to ensure anti-racist principles are woven into everything we do, enabling us to create a society where all children and young people can thrive.
