Adapting to a new world: supporting the youngest children through the pandemic
The Covid-19 pandemic has changed lives across the world. At Action for Children, we have remained committed to supporting families to the best of our ability
Our new briefing charts how we adapted our early years services during 2020. It explores the advantages and limitations of delivering support virtually, with a detailed case study of the experience of one local area in England. It also covers the response of Parent Talk, our digital service for parents, to the pressures placed on families in 2020.
It considers the place of digital provision within a wider package of services, and makes recommendations for government and for local areas on how to best support families in the recovery from the pandemic.
An accompanying blog reflects on the briefing’s findings, and summarises our recommendations to government on the future of support for the youngest children.
A key element of our response to the pandemic has been our Parent Talk service. Watch the video below to see how the service works.
