The Children's Charities Coalition
We’re working with leading children’s charities to ensure children’s voices are heard.
The UK could be the best place in the world to grow up. But right now, it isn’t.
There are more babies going without support from health visitors. More children are growing up in poverty. And more young people are waiting months on a mental health waiting list.
These trends are going the wrong way.
That’s why we’ve come together with Barnardo’s, The Children’s Society, the National Children’s Bureau and NSPCC to create the Children's Charities Coalition.
Supported by more than 130 organisations from the voluntary and community sectors, we want to ensure that good childhoods become a national priority.

Right now, the issues facing children and young people today are not priorities for decision makers. These include issues like:
- Poverty.
- The increasing number of children being taken into care.
- School absence.
- A growing mental health crisis.
- Online and offline abuse and exploitation.
We believe all these issues should be seen as a priority.

In January last year, we launched the Children at the Table campaign.
We called on the government to ensure that children growing up in the UK today and tomorrow are safer, happier, healthier, and have more equal access to opportunities.
We asked for:
An ambitious cross-government strategy
We asked the government to commit to an ambitious cross-government strategy and outcomes framework to drive improvements for babies, children, and young people.
A new approach to decision-making
We asked the government to show a new approach to decision-making that places children’s needs, wishes, and outcomes at its heart and involves children and young people every step of the way.
More investment of our national wealth
We asked for the next government to invest more of our national wealth in improving the lives of babies, children, and young people and spend strategically on early intervention and prevention.
The Children at the Table campaign launched in January 2024
